TEST LEADS
Instrument test leads
State the instrument, measurement circuit, lead length and required conductor size. Include the complete probe and connector specification.
APPLICATION / Test & instrumentation
From the instrument to the test point.
For test leads and instrument wiring, we start from flexible silicone single-core wire: 0.08 mm tinned-copper strands with silicone rubber insulation, 28 AWG to 2 AWG, rated −60 °C (−76°F) to +180 °C (356°F) continuous and +200 °C (392°F) short-term.

AT A GLANCE
Each test connection and the silicone wire we start from.
| Connection | Cable construction | Key point |
|---|---|---|
| Instrument test leads | Flexible silicone single-core wire | 0.08 mm fine-stranded tinned-copper conductor |
| Bench and fixture wiring | Flexible silicone single-core wire, 28 AWG to 2 AWG | Checked against your fixture and test method |
| Instrument internal connections | Flexible silicone single-core wire | Shielding specified separately |
CONNECTION TASKS
Our flexible silicone single-core wire is used for instrument test leads. The rating of a finished probe or test-lead set depends on the complete assembly.

TEST LEADS
State the instrument, measurement circuit, lead length and required conductor size. Include the complete probe and connector specification.

TEST FIXTURES
Wire for test fixtures and bench connections. Conductor size and terminations follow the measurement circuit.
INTERNAL WIRING
Mark internal power or signal connections on the instrument drawing. Identify shielding or specialised signal requirements separately.
SELECTION CHECKS
Include these conditions with your enquiry so we can select the right cable.
Operating voltage, current, test method and any measurement-category documentation define the lead.
Routing, bend locations, manual handling or repeated motion and the test conditions set the mechanical duty.
Probe, connector, strain relief and termination requirements matter as much as the wire insulation.

SINGLE-CORE SILICONE WIRE
APPLICATION LIMITS
Wire specifications do not constitute a CAT rating for a finished test lead.
TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS
Product datasheet and quotation checklist.
Construction, applications and size table.
Certification is model-specific; the marks on a datasheet do not replace a certificate.Send a drawing or existing cable specification with the following information.
BEFORE YOU SPECIFY
This page offers wire, not a finished CAT-rated probe or test-lead set. Any measurement-category rating applies to the complete assembly.
No. Coaxial geometry, impedance, screening and measurement requirements need a separate specification.
28 AWG to 2 AWG, with outside diameters from 1.2 mm to 12.5 mm. The conductor is made of 0.08 mm tinned-copper strands.
