Flat Silicone Cable Designs: Twin Leads and Ribbon
The following configurations are custom design starting points. Dimensions, electrical ratings and sample acceptance are established for the selected project.

Dimension checklist
Flat Cable Width, Thickness and Conductor Pitch
Use a dimensioned cross-section rather than converting a round-cable diameter into flat thickness.
Overall Width, Thickness and Tolerances
Give the permitted envelope and tolerances at the narrowest equipment opening.
Conductor Count, Size and Pitch
Show conductor sizes, number of cores, spacing and identification in the drawing.
Bend Direction and Movement Duty
Show the routing and bend direction. For moving installations, include radius, travel and movement frequency for review.
Core Separation and Connector Termination
Include the connector or terminal specification and any requirement to separate individual cores at the cable ends.

What is a practical twin-core silicone design?
Start with two stranded conductors, each silicone-insulated and joined by a separating web. A custom brief can use 2 × 0.5 mm² or 2 × 0.75 mm², with overall dimensions, identification and separation length chosen for the connection.
Can the conductor pitch be specified for a connector?
Yes. For example, 1.00 mm and 1.27 mm pitch are concrete IDC design directions. Provide the connector part number, core count and cable-envelope limits so the proposed dimensions and assembly can be checked.
Will it fit an IDC connector?
Confirm compatibility using the connector specification and the agreed cable drawing. Include the connector part number, contact pitch and cable-thickness limits.
