Silicone Cable for
Plastics Processing Machinery

Heating-unit leads and fixed machine wiring.

For heating-unit and fixed machine connections, we start from flexible silicone single-core wire: fine-stranded tinned copper with silicone rubber insulation, 28 AWG to 2 AWG, rated −60 °C (−76°F) to +180 °C (356°F) continuous and +200 °C (392°F) short-term in fixed installation.

CONNECTION TASKS

Plastics machinery wiring

Our flexible silicone single-core wire is used in industrial high-temperature equipment and for internal wiring of electric heating. Each moulding machine and any moving axis is reviewed with your drawing.

HEATED EQUIPMENT

Heating-unit connections

Provide the heating-unit drawing and the temperature at the proposed wire route, including enclosure and ventilation details.

Typical application

MACHINE WIRING

Fixed machine connections

Identify the electrical circuit, connection points and installation space for a proposed silicone-wire specification.

MOTION BOUNDARY

Handling and moving axes

Describe travel, bend radius and cycle conditions. Do not select a continuous-motion cable only because the wire is flexible.

Motion test required

SELECTION CHECKS

Operating conditions to specify

Include these conditions with your enquiry so we can select the right cable.

Thermal location

The temperature experienced by the wire, not the machine process temperature, sets the requirement.

Installation type

Fixed and moving sections are marked separately on the machine layout.

Production interfaces

Conductor sizes, terminals, cable lengths and the machine documentation complete the specification.

APPLICATION LIMITS

Heated, fixed & moving connections

Heater leads, machine interconnections and handling axes have different thermal and motion requirements.

Heating connection
Review conductor and insulation against the actual wiring environment.
Machine interconnection
Identify power, control or signal duty and the required cable arrangement.
Handling axis
Provide dynamic routing and validation requirements for a separate cable review.

QUOTATION CHECKLIST

Plastics processing brief

Send a drawing or existing cable specification with the following information.

What information helps?
  • Machine model and wiring section
  • Wire-route temperature and ventilation
  • Fixed/moving route drawing, bend space and motion requirements
  • Electrical duty, terminals, quantity and acceptance criteria

BEFORE YOU SPECIFY

Frequently asked questions

Is a silicone wire automatically suitable for a removal robot?

No. Continuous travel, torsion and cycle-life requirements need a selected cable specification and supporting validation.

What bend radius does the wire need at the heating unit?

6 × the cable diameter for fixed installation: from 7.2 mm for 28 AWG to 75 mm for 2 AWG.
