Silicone wire & cable / Shielded Silicone Cables

Shielded Silicone Cables

An overall copper-braid screen for silicone equipment connections.

Build the screened connection around tinned-copper braiding, the selected core insulation and a silicone outer sheath. Specify the braid coverage and the equipment termination together, then verify the agreed electrical requirements.

Screen construction

YGGP Shielded Silicone Cable Construction

The factory YGGP layer arrangement provides the base construction. The coverage and EMC criteria below are project design targets rather than ratings for every catalogue item.

Shielded Silicone Cables reference construction illustration
YGGP reference illustration. The factory sheet identifies tissue-paper covering, a tinned-copper braided screen and a silicone outer sheath; confirm the selected insulation version.

Core Insulation, Count and Conductor Size

The YGGP sheet lists silicone or “Teflon” core insulation. Confirm the selected version, core count and conductor size.

Overall tinned-copper braid

Use the YGGP tissue-paper and overall tinned-copper-braid arrangement as the starting point. An 85% optical-coverage target is a concrete option for the custom brief; verify the achieved coverage on the agreed construction.

Silicone Sheath and Finished Diameter

A silicone outer sheath covers the screened assembly. Use the selected size table for finished diameter and the agreed cable-entry limits.

Screen Coverage, Termination and Electrical Tests

Define what the screen must do and how it connects to the equipment.

EMC Screen Connections and Cable Routing

Include the complete connection arrangement when requesting a screened cable.

Screen Bonding and Termination

Use the equipment drawing to define circumferential braid contact, the EMC gland or connector and bonding at each end. Keep the termination arrangement part of the system review.

Finished Diameter and Bend Space

Check the finished diameter, stripping arrangement and permitted route at the connector or gland.

Screening Tests and Acceptance Criteria

Specify the test method, frequency range or protocol requirement if relevant. Coverage, attenuation and system EMC results must be confirmed for the selected construction.

Shielded Silicone Cables: questions before ordering.

What screen is documented for YGGP?

The factory YGGP construction uses an overall tinned-copper braid under the silicone outer sheath. For custom projects, an 85% optical-coverage target can be included in the specification, with achieved coverage verified on the agreed cable.

What information is needed for screen termination?

Include the equipment connection drawing, connector or gland details and the required screen connection at each end. Review the termination arrangement with the system design.

Does the screen establish a data-protocol rating?

No transmission bandwidth or data-protocol rating is established by the reviewed YGGP sheet. Provide the protocol and electrical requirements for a separate suitability check.

Does every screened version have silicone core insulation?

The YGGP factory sheet lists silicone or “Teflon” core insulation. Confirm the selected insulation version rather than inferring it from the outer sheath.
